Litter pick in Watton April 2024

The Rotary Club organised a litter pick in Watton, aided by other organisations

On 27th April organised a multiple agency litter pick in Watton. Using equipment supplied by Breckland Council, and assisted by Watton Mens Shed, Watton Air Cadets and Army Cadets, the team's route started from St Mary's Church and took in Dereham Road, Church Walk and Norwich Road.

Despite drizzly weather throughout the litter pick, the team of 28 were very thorough in their quest for items of discarded litter, and the task was completed in less than 2 hours. Rotary organiser Paul Weatherill thanked all those who took part, with particular thanks to the leaders of the 2 Cadet groups who helped to ensure the event was a success.

As we worked along the route, many local residents stopped to speak to us, and to thank us for our efforts in improving the environment around Watton.
