For many years, Norfolk jazz band Dixie Mix, led by Simon Nelson have performed at Queens Hall Watton to assist Watton Rotary club in raising funds for their charitable work. In fact this was the 44th such occasion.
112 tickets were sold for the event, which made for a good atmosphere in the hall, as the band entertained for 2 hours with their unique brand of music and wit.
Refreshments, in accordance with our usual custom, comprised baguette sandwiches containing either cheese or ham, and a piece of fruit. Dixie Mix have even written a song entitled 'Cheese or Ham' in honour of this tradition.
Ticket sales, combined with a well-supported raffle, made this a hugely successful evening for the Rotary Club. A repeat performance is planned for later this year.
