August 24th is Ukraine National day, and on this day in 2022 Watton Rotary club organised a coach trip to take 50 Ukraine refugees on a day at the beautiful seaside resort of Cromer. Here they had a walking tour of the town, spent time on the beach, and had a picnic in a park overlooking the sea.
It was an opportunity for children to play as they would in normal times, and for their mothers to relax for a few hours and chat to each other and to their Rotarian hosts for the day. Before going home everybody assembled for a lively rendition of the Ukraine National Anthem. It was a fine day out.
