Treasure Hunt and Afternoon Tea

A total of 10 cars took part in the Treasure Hunt, devised and organised by Ivan. We started at the Queen's Hall car park in Watton, and we set off with staggered departure times, each car 10 minutes apart. 

Our route took us through Thetford Forest and some very picturesque villages, including Santon Downham and Weeting. Periodically we had to stop and look for clues, often found on village signs such as the one at Wretham, whilst enjoying a pleasant rural drive. Often driving along little-used roads, many of those taking part saw parts of their local area they hadn't seen before. 

There was a lot of heavy rain during our tour, which made the drive a little more interesting, and by the time we arrived at Andrew's house, the venue for our afternoon tea, a full-blown thunder storm was raging with torrential rain. Any thoughts of sitting outside were abandoned, but a very pleasant and convivial time was had indoors. 

Sean won the overall prize, but promptly gave it to our hostess, Karen, in recognition for all her hard work in putting on the afternoon tea. By the time we left to go home, driving conditions were becoming hazardous in the heavy rain, but everyone made it safely home.
