Presidential Handover

Thu, Jun 24th 2021 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Our last meeting in the current Rotary Year, when we undertake our Presidential handover and Club Draw

At this evening's Zoom meeting, we celebrated Mike Haythorpe's year as President of our club, during an unprecedented year of lockdowns and self isolation. Under Mike's leadership our club fared better than most, as despite many of our activities being curtailed during the past year, we actually welcomed two new members into Watton Rotary Club, with a third set to join us soon. During tonight's meeting Mike passed the chain of office to our incoming President, Paul Weatherill, who in turn passed the Vice President,s ribbon to Mike Gicquel, the incoming Vice President.

In accepting the chain of office, Paul expressed his wish that club members would continue to support each other, work as a team, and embrace new ideas. He wanted to encourage new members to get involved in the activities of the club, and indicated that one of his priorities for the coming year was Rotary's new avenue of service, the Environment. Above all, he wanted us to enjoy fellowship and have lots of fun during the year.

This evening we also held the twice-yearly draw of our 100 club (which actually has over 120 members). Prizes drawn were for £100, £75, two x £50, four x £25 and two x £10.
