Weekly meeting

Thu, May 13th 2021 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

This evening we welcome our speaker, Rotarian Chris Sumner

At tonight's Zoom meeting, we were joined by two guests invited by Ivan, Keith Flitcroft (who has visited us two or three times previously) and Swaffham Rotarian Robin Rayner, who brought greetings from his President.

Chris Sumner, our speaker, is a retired Coroner, and gave us a highly entertaining talk about his career, and some of the more interesting cases he worked on. During his career he presided over an incredible 5,000 inquests, and became Chief Coroner for his area, around Merseyside. During a lively Q & A session afterwards, Chris fielded questions about such issues as disputed verdicts, infamous cases from around the world, and the current pandemic, always answering with great knowledge and humour.
