We were delighted to be joined for tonight's Zoom meeting by members of Watton Inner Wheel club, including their President Beryl. In all, 23 members and visitors attended the meeting.
Our speaker, Rtn Phil Godfrey, spoke movingly about antiphospholipid syndrome (APS ), a very serious blood disorder, about which little seems to be known, but it can be life threatening. It is a common cause of miscarriages and of still births, and can cause severe blood clots on the lungs and elsewhere in the body.
The disease is preventable and curable if detected early enough, and APS Support is raising money to research this deadly disease. Phil himself walked 1400 miles from the Scillies to the Shetlands to raise awareness for the cause.
Besides making a donation to the charity, the club will include a link to it via our website.
Before the meeting ended, we had time for another 'True or False' quiz compiled by Pat, and a couple of amusing videos supplied by Keith.
