Second new member in 2017 - 18
President Bill had the pleasure of inducting the new member - Neil Osborne. Club members welcomed Neil into the group and wished him a long and rewarding time in the Rotary family.
Neil's classification is Milk Wholesaler - retired.
IPP Stuart Cavanagh introduced Neil to the Club and indicated that Neil would be a valuable asset to the Club going forward.
The Club's membership now stands at 22 persons not inclusing associate and honorory members.

Club Meeting - Membership Workshop - 20th March
more Committee Chair, Peter Holmes, will be running a further membership focused workshop baes on previous proposed initiatives to raise membership levels - we also are hoping to hear more on the RI initiate being rolled out.
Open Membership evening - 29th Nov
more Soham Rotary will be hosting an Open Membership evening where potential members can come along and learn a bit more about Rotary and enjoy the hospitality on offer.

Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)
more Soham Rotary has suspended all weekly meetings. Charity collections will follow the necessary guidelines. We will be in this situation for the foreseeable future in line with the advice given regarding the virus pandemic.
Rotarian Pat Law - will be missed.
more Our first lady member Pat, lost her battle with ill health earlier this month. Pat was a strong willed individual and could always be relied on to express her views at Club meetings. Despite her failing health, she continued to support the Club to the end
2019 Young Musician Final - 2nd July 2019
more A wonderful evening of music with as always, very high standards. Congratulations to all that took part. Overall winner, Laura Peck on saxophone received the winners shield from President Alan Chilcott.

more Submissions are now being sought for our 2019 Rotary Youth Leadership Award Candidate - ages between 18 and 26. An positive experience which will stay with them throughout life
2018 RYLA Presentation
more Our 2018 RYLA candidate, Leon Harding, visited the Club to receive his certificates for completing the 2018 Residential Course in September. We enjoyed hearing about his experiences. District RYLA officer, Robin Wraight praised the Club's RYLA support.
1st New Member for New Rotary Year
more One of President Barry first roles in the chair was to welcome our latest member into the Club. Gill Hamilton who has had a long association with the Club and it's members, was welcomed into the Club. We wish her every success within the Club.
January 2018 - New Member
more Pres. Bill welcomed our latest Club member, David Werner into the Soham Club. David, who lives in Wicken and has several active roles in the community, is retired following working for The Ministry of Defense. David was introduced by Rtn Barry Lonsdale.

RYLA - Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
more The Club in conjunction with their employer, Shearline Precision Engineering, sponsored two candidates for this year's week long residential leadership course, It was held in September at Grafham Water outdoor training facility.

more Great night of performances by all the Finalists who were competing at The Performing Arts Centre in Soham. This years final was dedicated to Stephen Kenna who sadly passed away this year. What a fitting tribute.
Kids Out
more Soham Club members will be assisting Ely Rotary Club's with this Kid's Out national event - Children from Highfield Schol in Ely will be spending a fun day at Wickstead Park.

more The overall winner of this year's Young Musician was Rebecca Storey, a pupil at Soham Village College. Guest adjudicator was Anjula Seemens. Rtn Graham Smith presented the winner's shield.

more Club member Ken Thompson celebrated his 90th Birthday at this week's Club meeting. Surprise guys were his daughter and her husband plus his granddaughter. Ken received an engraved glass bowl to recognised this milestone
