2017 Race Night

Great support for our Charity Race Night this year with almost 100 people filling the Soham Town Rangers Football Club on Saturday 18th March. Over £900 raised for Kenyan Medical Outreach programme.

Saturday Night - end of the six nations for this year.

The International committee team of Geoff Fisher, Alan Chilcott and Graham Smith organised this year's event to try and raise funds for Martin & Judy Heath's work in Kenya with their medical outreach camps.

Martin indicated through a letter to the Race Night that things were tough in Kenya at the memnet due in particular to the drought conditions which was causing significant famine conditions over a huge area of Africa.

In Marin & Judy's village of Makwang'ani populated by most subsistence farmers, much time is being spent sourcing water which now requires transportation over long distances. Food store levels are also getting low.

This stress is aggravating the health of people and the clinic work is under increasing demand. The clinic in Mafungoni Village is indeed very grateful to the help and support they recieve from Soham Rotary Club.

So a huge thanks to everyone dipped into their pockets euther through sponsoring a race, tricast, buying a horse or just the fun of a bet. The £900 raised will go a long way to help Martin and his team.

Well done everyone
