The annual Charity Bonspeil took place at Dewars organised by Bill Duncan and raised a fabulous £1,365 for the Matt Murdoch Foundation. The 20 teams of curlers participating came from as far afield as Stranraer, Inverness, Oban, Dumfries, Aberdeen and everywhere in-between.
The event started with refreshments before playing in 2 sections of five rinks with 4 short games. They played for the Rotary Jewel with Dumfries Devorgilla winning and Perth Kinnoull coming second with the other Dumfries team coming third. All the participants enjoyed a lunch and re-analysed the games over a friendly evening meal.
Locals to Perth, Finlay Rutherford and Callum Skea had recently attended the elite training camp Trillium in Ontario, Canada in 2024 through the sponsorship of the Matt Murdoch Foundation. They gave a talk to the Rotary Club of Perth in February saying how much they had enjoyed and benefited from the training camp.
