Sponsorship of Kenya Students

Sponsorship of students in Kenya

Students

In 2005 Alex Cairncross came to the Rotary Club of Perth and talked about her work with Ann Gloag in Nairobi and the children’s home that Ann was supporting.  Alex appealed for sponsorship of a child at the home, including their education at a Barnardo School.  The club responded and sponsored Grace Njoki then aged 3 years old, providing for her right through until she was 18 years old.  She now lives in the community.

The three photos of Grace are taken from the Rotary Club of Perth History Book published 2017 for the centenary year.

Our sponsorship continues with, currently, two other students, Angela and Mantaine who also regularly send us letters telling us of their lives and sending us photos.  We see them shopping and in the community with their friends.
