Dr Rosalie Wilkie gave a talk on the work of the charity, Tayside Children with Cancer and Leukaemia (TCCL which sounds like “tickle”).
Dr Wilkie was a Consultant Paediatrician in Tayside and in 2012 after her retirement, she became chair of TCCL Lodge with responsibility for raising funds to buy and renovate a holiday house in St Andrews and make it available, free of charge, to families affected by childhood cancer and leukaemia.
This 4-bedroom detached house is in a quiet residential part of St Andrews and enables families to have respite from the arduous treatments often involved for children with cancer and leukaemia, by enjoying a holiday together.
