On Monday 25th June Rotarian Alan Burdass was inducted as President of the Rotary Club of March for the year 2018/2019 taking over from outgoing President Rotarian Don Morris. Before handing over to the new President Don reflected on his year in office thanking all the officers and members for the support he had received. After the induction ceremony Rtn. Don Morris introduced Ed LeFevre Managing Director of Datashredders as guest speaker. Datashredders provide a confidential on-site document destruction service and recently have undertaken the handling of the newspaper which the Club collects to raise funds for its charities. Ed (whose family have been in business in the town for many years) explained how with his father Robert how Datashredders was established in 2000 and how the business has grown since then. The service they provide is now used nationwide and has extended into recycling of paper, plastic and metal and now employs 50 people. After Ed had answered many questions he was thanked by Rtn. Karen Coppin who hoped his relationship with the Club would continue for many years hence. After being inducted President Alan thanked the Club for honour bestowed upon him by making him their President and looked forward to members’ support in making his year a successful one. He then presented Rotarian Don Morris with his Past President’s jewel and inducted Rotarian George Russell as Senior Vice President.
