Kids Out

Readers will I am sure be delighted to know that a party of 35 youngsters and 16 adult helpers from March Schools, enjoyed a fun filled and educational day out to Pidgeon’s Farm, on Wednesday 10th June. Courtesy of the monies raised by the donation of newspapers, by members of the public, to the Rotary Club’s monthly collection in City Road Car Park upon the 2nd Saturday 09.00 – noon.

Collected by coach the excited children were taken to the venue, with free admissions for all, a packed lunch, drinks, tractor rides, and pocket money. The tired, but happy girls and boys then returned to their various schools.

This annual event is wholly funded by the income from the sale of the newspapers, which are recycled in equine bedding. This collection has now been taking place for over 40 years, come snow, rain or shine. This is one of the local community projects funded by the Rotary Club of March each year. Rotarians just give their time, there are no expenses. Rotarians Ross and Jan Davies, with Terry Emery supervised the function.

Godfrey Smith. President.
