Rotary Donation to the Pelicans Hockey Club
At a recent Saturday morning development session for the under 12s the President of the Rotary Club of King’s Lynn, Jame Lee, met with members of the coaching team and players and presented a cheque for £250. The Rotary Club recognises the huge contribution that the Pelicans Hockey Club make to the community. It was founded in 1920 and runs four men’s and 3 ladies’ teams as well as boys’ and girls’ development teams. In addition to Saturday mornings there are training sessions at their Lynn Sport base every evening except Friday. Many club members have gone on to play for their universities and even for national teams. Perhaps the most famous ex-Pelican is Danny Kerry, currently UK Sport Coaching Lead, responsible for the strategic support and development of coaches working within the Olympic and Paralympic system.
