Rotary Golf Day supports good causes
The annual charity Golf Day organised by the Rotary Club of King’s Lynn was held at the end of June at the King’s Lynn Golf Club. This year’s winning team included Alyson Lacey, Jayne Clarke, Karen Brown, and Alison Mackway. Karen only just missed a hole in one and the star prize of a car.
Some £7300 was raised to support the Club’s charitable work. Over the past year those charities helped included Guide Dogs for the Blind, Baby Basics, the Royal British Legion, RNLI, Abbie’s Army, Samaritans, King’s Lynn Food Bank, King’s Lynn Night Shelter, Purfleet Trust, Tapping House, Riding for the Disabled, West Norfolk Carers, Diabetes Awareness and Nelson’s Journey. In addition, prizes have been awarded at local high schools, some 300 dictionaries given to children in local primary schools and Shelter Boxes have been bought in response to natural disasters abroad.
Thanks go to King’s Lynn Golf Club for hosting the event, all the teams who took part, the sponsors, and the club members and their wives, who helped to make the event such a success on what was one of the hottest days of the year.
