Visit to the Rotary Club of Warsaw October 2024
Once a year Rotary clubs in Great Britain have a Scatter Week when members are encouraged to visit other clubs. For several years the Rotary Club of King’s Lynn have been more adventurous than most and have visited a number of European countries.
Recently members of the King’s Lynn Club visited the Rotary Club of Warsaw. The photograph shows the trip organiser, Michael Pellizzaro, and Jacek Pudlo, the President of the Warsaw Club, exchanging banners.
The Rotary Club of Warsaw was founded in 1931 and ceased in 1939 at the start of WW2. It was re-formed in 1989, the first club to be re-started in Poland at the end of communist control.
The members of the Warsaw Club were very friendly and welcoming and the King’s Lynn visitors really enjoyed their day. They left King's Lynn at 03:45 on Wednesday morning (2 October) and were back home by about 4 am on Thursday morning (3 October), an amazing 24-hour Scatter Week trip.
