An afternoon in the countryside Saturday 20 May from 3:30 pm
The Environment Group of The Rotary Club of Cambridge invites you to visit College Farm, Haddenham, CB6 3XD to view a rewilding project that has been underway for 15 years, creating many ponds, meadows and vistas, and planting over 1,000 native trees. There will be different wildflowers, sculptures and a cattle yard garden to see.
The rewilding has encouraged two barn owls to permanently reside at the farm and raise broods of owlets for the past three years in one of the stables which has been permanently kept shut for this purpose. For this to happen, barn owls need close access to good hedgerows, rough pasture land and ditches - all of which have been created - away from main roads.
You may witness singing skylarks soaring into the air. These arrived last year, and have already been seen and heard again this year.
Participants will be offered a glass of champagne, soft drinks and homemade cake.
It should be a lovely afternoon, however if by chance it does rain, there is an open barn to shelter under and an art gallery to view.

The proceeds and any donations will be paid to a charity chosen by the Environment Group. This will be announced as soon as possible. Spouses, partners, children, friends, and dogs on leads are welcome. There is parking at the property.
Directions
Take the A10 towards Ely and at the Stretham roundabout turn left. After driving through Wilburton, you will then arrive at the centre of Haddenham. At the crossroads, turn right and go past the Anglican Church on your left and down a steep hill. At the exact bottom of the hill on the left, immediately before two large weeping willow trees within a small village green, you will find a drive. This drive leads to light green gates which will be left open. On the right of the drive is a small mill wheel marked 'College Farm'. For parking, proceed up the drive, through the gates along a concrete roadway to a parking area that will be indicated.
