Lendwithcare is an initiative of Care International UK, which helps small entrepreneurs to get their foot on the first rung of the ladder towards setting up their own business. The small loans handed out by the supporters of Lendwithcare enable people in the developing world to provide for their families, send their children to school and find their place within their community.
Our Rotary Club has been a member of Lendwithcare since 2014, during which time we have made 309 loans, helped 2,350 entrepreneurs and supported 7,356 family members. Repayment of loans has been ongoing and only 4 entrepreneurs have defaulted since 2014. Once a loan has been repaid, we put the money back into the system to help the next person.
One example of an entrepreneur who has benefitted from Lendwithcare is Vilma from the Philippines, who has a small business selling grocery and household items. She has had one loan, which she has repaid. She now needs a further loan to restock her shop and grow her business. Vilma is just one person, multiplied many many times over, who is grateful for the support we can give.
