Jazz Night

Annual Rotary Jazz Night 2025

v

This year, Baldock Rotary’s ever popular Jazz Concert, held at Knight’s Templar School was attended by an audience of 110 people who enjoyed music played by the excellent Apex Jazz band and a fish and chip supper and Ice cream in the interval.

The versatile Apex Jazz band members, Peter Chapman clarinet, Andy Moran trumpet, Adrian Cosker tenor sax, Martin Ley trombone, Mike O’Neill piano, Len Crawley percussion and Tomas Pederson bass played a medley of numbers  including We Shall Walk Through the Streets of the City, All of Me, Carry Me Back to Old Virginia, Maggie, Bugle Boy March, Raining in My Heart, Sheikh of Araby, and ended this splendid concert with China Town. The brief intervals between the numbers pause was usually filled with Peter’s humorous repartee!!

The evening was organised expertly by Carol and Keith Britter and supported by a small team from the Rotary Club and is a classic example of Rotary being fun, as well supporting worthy charitable causes. Funds from this year’s Jazz Concert will help The British Heart Foundation, who’s research, since 1961, has helped to halve annual deaths from cardiovascular disease.

Keith thanked everyone for their support in making the evening such a success.

Baldock Rotary congratulate Carol and Keith for organising such a successful evening and thank the APEX Jazz Band, once again, for such brilliant music!
