What we do in the Community

The primary remit of the Community Committee is to raise funds, via local activities and events, for the designated Club community and youth programmes, and any donations that are planned. For many years, the primary event has been the selling of tickets to win a trolley dash at Waitrose, Rushden in early December, traditionally a whole Club fundraising event, and supported by the selling of the tickets at the November Higham Ferrers Christmas Sparkle.

A headline recipient charity has always been designated, but it also helps to fund other charitable organisations supported by the Club, for example Prison Me No Way, Kids Funday at Wicksteed Park and sending a candidate to Calvert Trust (led by our own member, Mark Winfield).

Committee Members are: Mark Darnell (Chair),Tony Bathurst, Glenis Haynes, Barbara Jenney, Mike Neville, Ian Smith, Graham West, Cera Wilkins and Mark Winfield
