Social, Club Service and Foundation Committee

The Rotary Club is devoted to giving service in the community.

Club Service involves arranging Club specific events including our annual Christmas Celebration, our Charter Dinner (with our 90th Anniversary Charter being held on 25th February 2025), and the end of year President's Evening.

The Social element of this committee revolves around District competitions which are held annually. The District 1070 Quiz which involves teams of 4 members from each Club competing against each other. The District Minor Sports (Rushden Club is currently the reigning champions!) involves a competition of largely "pub style" games against other Teams from both Area 5 and District 1070.

Foundation (also incorporating End Polio Now). This is the fund raising element of the committee and involves staging events which will enable the Club to maintain its proud record of donating to both:

Rotary Foundation which provides Club grants to facilitate local, national and international projects.

End Polio Now which has been a Rotary global project since 1988 and has already achieved over 99.9% success rate with only 2 countries (Afghanistan and Pakistan) still registering cases. Rotary, with the generous support of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has alrady raised well over 1 billion US dollars.
