Champions of Change Awards
This year Rotary Champions of Change Awards were made to two local Rotarians: David Wallwork, from our own Rotary Club of Ramsey for supporting the education of youngsters in Sierra Leone and Janet Cooke, from Rotary Club of Peterborough Ortons, for her wholehearted work in the Peterborough Dementia café,
The Rt Hon. the Lord Hague of Richmond presented the awards at a prestigious ceremony last month in the House of Lords. In recognition of the tremendous work done by Rotarians in Great Britain and Ireland. Baroness Harris of Richmond hosted the event and Sir Menzies Campbell gave a welcoming speech. Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson and several MPs also attended.
The categories for nomination were: -
International (David Wallwork)
For outstanding volunteer work primarily focused on addressing international humanitarian challenges outside Great Britain and Ireland.
Domestic (Janet Cooke)
For outstanding volunteer work, primarily focused on addressing humanitarian concerns within Great Britain and Ireland.
