Leicester Blaby & Market Harborough
Thursday 12th September
Morning
· Arrive Market Harborough Railway Station at 10-05am from London St Pancras Station
· Greeted by Blaby and Market Harborough Rotary Club Hosts
· Coffee at the “Insomnia” Café in Market Harborough followed by visit to the adjoining Market Harborough Museum showing Roman coins and other historic exhibits from the town and area including artifacts from the old Symington’s corset and parachute factory in which the museum is now situated.
· Visit the old Grammar school nearby.
Afternoon
· Lunch at the Foxton Locks Restaurant Market Harborough 1-00pm
· Tour of Foxton locks. Option of a canal boat ride.
Evening
· Evening dinner with hosts in Blaby and Market Harborough.
Friday 13th September
Morning
· Kind Richard III visitor centre in Leicester followed by lunch at the White Boar café.
Afternoon
· Afternoon guided tour of the neighbouring Leicester Cathedral including King Richard III’s tomb by the Project Director of the recent Cathedral restoration project followed by a visit to the neighbouring Guildhall
Evening
· Farewell Dinner with the Blaby and Market Harborough clubs..
Saturday 14th September
Morning
· Visit to Rutland sailability on Rutland Water at 9-00am
Northampton Clubs
Lunchtime
· Handover to Northampton club hosts at Sondes Arms Hotel car park in Rockingham village at 12 noon.
· Lunch and visit to Lamport Hall’s open gardens event through to 4.00pm.
· Evening meals with Northampton hosts.
Sunday 15th September
· Silverstone Museum includes the history of the Formula One race track, with an alternative choice of Sulgrave Manor the ancestral home of George Washington’s family. ( Visitors to state preferences.) Lunches to be taken Silverstone, or nearby pub. PM, free time for local visits.
· Northampton West Club Dinner at 6.30pm at Brampton Heath Golf Centre. Opportunity for a brief presentation from D2395 about their clubs activities.
Monday 16th September
· After breakfast departure from Northampton at end of exchange.
· (There is a regular fast train service from Northampton to London Euston Station- less than an hour travel time.
