Rotary Classic Car 100 Rally
Currently we have well over 100 cars entered and that could double and more in the last two weeks depending on the weather. The rally is divided into the following components
1) Static exhibits including Club Stands on the playing field
2) The Grand Tour, 65 miles (For the lovers of the open road)
3) The Scenic Tour, 31 miles (Through Historic and Picturesque Northamptonshire)
Details of the Grand Tour and Scenic Tour are at the end of the note attached
We have some great pre-war cars including a 1933 Talbot which raced at Brooklands, Rolls Royce, Porsche, MG, Jaguar, Alfa Romeo, Military Vehicles, Vintage Motorcycles and much more
The aim from the start has been to show the public what we in Rotary do and, after a long lockdown the people want something which is safe and in the open air whilst raising money for Rotary Charities
We are only 2 weeks away from our Classic Car 100 Rally. Thank you for registering an interest-Robin Green

We have some great pre-war cars including a 1933 Talbot which raced at Brooklands, Rolls Royce, Porsche, MG, Jaguar, Alfa Romeo, various Military Vehicles, Vintage Motorcycles and much more
The aim from the start has been to show the public what we do and after a long lockdown the people want something which is safe and particularly in the open air.
Your safety and the safety of the public is paramount. We have Marshalls to direct you at every step, off the highway and through the car park. All activities and donations will take place on the playing field, not in the highway.
Not only are there great cars lined up there will also be, bacon rolls, a Pizza Van. Gallones ices and much more
Enjoy the day while we are raising money for Rotary charities. Please give generously.
The event is covered by RI Insurance (£20 million) on the playing field, but cars who go on the Grand Tour or the Scenic Tour must have their own insurance and drive withing the speed limits and prevailing driving conditions.
The Police and Fire Service in the 3 counties have been advised of the routes. We have SJA ambulance medical staff in attendance in the playing field and a defibrillator.
What is amazing is the enthusiasm from the public in supporting the event.

Grand Tour Route (65 miles)
Leaving the display field turn right and follow the one-way system round to the A5199 where you turn right through the village of Chapel Brampton and then take a road to the left to the village of Pitsford. Just outside the village turn left on to the A508 to Market Harborough. Proceed to pass Brixworth (continue straight over the 2 roundabouts remaining on the A508) and then continuing through the village of Maidwell, over the A14 continuing on the A5199 past Great Oxenden, enter Leicestershire and follow signs towards the Town Centre of Market Harborough.
At the first set of lights turn right on to Springfield Street then pass Sainsburys and at the roundabout take the 2nd exit, go over the river bridge and at the next lights turn right. Continue straight on passing the industrial estate, staying straight on at small roundabouts following All Routes until reaching the large roundabout on the A427 for Corby taking the 3rd exit and then almost immediately turn left to Uppingham on the B664. Continue on the B664, through Sutton Bassett, Weston-by-Welland and on reaching the village of Medbourne take the left fork to Uppingham.
(Note the Nevill Arms Pub would make a good coffee stop). Continue through Stockerston and on eventual arrival at Uppingham take the A47 for Leicester.
Follow the A47 passing Allexton, through Tugby and after the village of Skeffington take a left turn on to the B6047 for Market Harborough. Continue through New Inn, Three Gates, Tur Langton, Church Langton, eventually arriving back in Market Harborough, from where you retrace the route back to Chapel Brampton.
Note: If one wanted to visit Foxton Locks you can follow the signs for Foxton shortly after passing East Langton on the B6047. There is there an interesting flight of locks on the Grand Union Canal and the Inn there is another pleasant place for a coffee stop.
Take your time and enjoy scenic Northamptonshire.

After crossing the A14 going north turn first left at Kelmarsh. Pass Kelmarsh Hall on your right. Continue about a mile to the Clipston/Naseby Crossroads turn left and head south over the battlefield (14th June 1645) to the Village of Naseby. There are Memorials with vantage points overlooking the battlefield dotted about. (Worth a look)
Journey onto Creaton. Stop at the A5199 before turning right and then turning left to head downhill towards Hollowell. Go through Hollowell and as you enter Guilsborough turn left past the Church and onto Coton, (Coton Manor Gardens are open on the day). Cross Ravensthorpe Reservoir on your left and straight through Ravensthorpe village. Then onto East Haddon. Turn left as you enter East Haddon before turning right towards Great Brington. Stop and carefully cross the A428
As you enter Great Brighton, the family church of the Spencer Family is high on the hill. Turn left (very sharp uphill turn) and after 50 metres turn right and follow the boundary of Althorp House. Travel slowly and look left and view Althorp House across the deer park (More than one species).
Past Althorp House (1688) on your left then turn left and go downhill into Upper Harlestone. Enjoy the thatched cottages and old bake house
On exiting the village turn left towards Lower Harlestone. At the A428 turn left through Lower Harlestone. On exiting Lower Harlestone turn right towards Church Brampton, pass the church (1327) on your left, straight over the crossroads and in less than a mile you are back at the playing field
