Holland Bequest Nomination
Cindy Chown has been involved with Talking Newspapers for the Blind almost since its inception some 35 years ago by Northamptonshire Association for the Blind at Wardington Court.
We have quizzed various people involved in this venture and, as far as we are able to ascertain, she has worked voluntarily and on a weekly basis for at least 35 years. During that time, she has been editing news cuttings from various local newspapers and putting them into order for a weekly schedule of readers and technicians to record, and send out tapes to the blind people of this area.
