Two entrants sponsored by the Northampton Rotary Club progressed to the District Final
Eleanor Fox performed on the clarinet in the Senior, Solo Instrumental section. The winner of that section, who will represent the District at the Regional event, came from Ashby de la Zouch.
Eleanor also sang with Alistair Donaghue, his sister Holly and James Coe, in "The Treblemakers" vocal quartet, which the Club supported in the Senior Ensemble Vocal section.
They won their section at the District final but, as non-solo performers, that is the best result that is achievable under the rules. Only soloists may proceed to the Regional and Rotary GB&I final, and competition is at a very high standard. We have had some go through to the regional final in the past, but cannot expect to win every year! We hope, however, that they will re-enter our competition for 2014.
