1. Maggie's is a UK-based charity providing free practical, emotional, and social support to anyone affected by cancer.

   Overview

   Maggie's was founded in 1995 by Maggie Keswick Jencks, inspired by her own experience with cancer, and is formally registered as the Maggie Keswick Jencks Cancer Caring Trust  The charity operates a network of 27 centres across the UK, often located near NHS hospitals, offering a welcoming environment where people affected by cancer can access support without an appointment or referral . The charity also provides online support for those unable to visit a centre 

   Services

   Maggie's centres provide a wide range of free services, including:

   • Emotional support from cancer support specialists and psychologists
   • Practical advice on treatment side effects, financial concerns, and benefits
   • Workshops and wellbeing sessions to help manage stress, anxiety, and daily life challenges
   • Support for friends, family, and carers of people with cancer 
   • The charity emphasizes helping people take back control when cancer disrupts their lives, offering guidance from diagnosis through treatment and beyond
