Young Photographer.
The Rotary Club of St Alphege is running, for the 9th year the #RotaryYoung Photographer competition. If you don't know what this involves just look in Touchwood, our sponsors, for the display by the entrance from John Lewis carpark, showing last year's winning entries.
This year the subject is Beauty of Architecture.
Who can take part?
The competition is open to all schools and college communities and those who are home educated, along with any other young peoples’ community organisations, for example, community RotaKids, community Interact, Scout Groups, Girl Guides.
There are three age groups:
Junior: Up to and including 10 years old
Intermediate: 11 to 13 years old
Senior: 14 to 17 years old
Entrants must not be over the upper age parameter for each group on 31 August 2022.
If you are interested further details can be found on "2022-23-Young-Photographer-information-Pack-v1.0.docx" and then get in touch with us at St Alphege Rotary. The closing date for entries is 28th February, so there is plenty of time so think about it.
Youth Speaks
We are running again with the very successful Youth Speaks competition and are planning to hold this on Monday 6th February.
In this competition schools enter a team of three to debate a subject, of their choosing, for 15 minutes. Most local schools have entered this in the past and thus know the details, but if any new schools are interested please get in touch with us.
Schools were approached last year to be involved with Young Writer, with no success howwever we will try to get some enthused.
In previous years the Club has helped Tudor Grange Academy & Young Carers with mock interviews. This is a useful service that the Club can offer.
