Volunteering
This year Rotary's theme is "Serve to Change Lives". One of the many ways we do this is by volunteering our services to community groups, for fundraising activities and for general support where our community needs us.
Our volunteering activities are wide and varied – from hands on construction projects at the Pitscurry Project to fundraising for RNLI and Litter Picking to keep our town looking beautiful.
Members not only volunteer as Club members but some also volunteer as individuals in charity shops, mentoring of secondary school pupils, and in the provision of food and support to those in need. All in an effort to “Serve to Change Lives”.
Some examples include:
- Supporting the Red Cross at Garioch Vaccination Centre
- Fundraising for RNLI in the Aldi supermarket
- Building a storage shed at Pitscurry and providing gardening support to service users
- Litter picking in the town centre in cooperation with Inverurie Community Council
- Helping Inverurie Environmental Improvement Group to put up hanging flower baskets and with their routine watering
- Erecting gazebos at the peak of the pandemic to help care home residents meet with visitors
- Fundraising for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal
