At a recent meeting  Pauline Heyward & Helen Braithwait updated us on the recent developments in their work in Keniworth, saying that the bereavement cafe initiative as proving very helpful.

They thanked us for the donation we made to them, which were proceeds from the 2024 Advent Calendar.

Pauline reminded us of the major aims of the project.

At Crisis they work side by side with thousands of people each year as they find ways out of homelessness. They provide practical support to help people access benefits, healthcare services, employment opportunities, and more.

Their main aim is to relieve the huge pressure of homelessness, by helping people find safe and affordable homes as quickly as possible.

They prioritise supporting people who are facing the most complex barriers to ending their homelessness and often have nowhere else to turn. As well as helping to end homelessness for individuals, they work to address the root causes that push people into homelessness in the first place.

They campaign on the political changes needed to end homelessness for good and conduct research to understand and highlight the scale, causes and consequences of homelessness.

Since they stated work in Kenlworth at the time of the Coronavirus epidemic, Compassion Kenilworth has become an integral part of our community.
