The GLP further aids literacy in Guatemala with its Rise programme, which provides scholarships for children whose family circumstances would otherwise prevent them from getting an education. Donors, largely International Rotariry Clubs, pay their school fees.
Kenilworth Rotary has for many years supported students in this way, often females; below is the picture of Angélica S. our current (2024) student. She is from Saquitacaj, in the NW Highlands of Guatemala; she wishes to become a nurse.

more World Wide Rotary recognises October 24th each year as End Polio Now Day. Polio is nearly but not yet quite eliminated. Look for the Kenilworth Rotary's Stand in Talisman Square on Thursday 24 October - and in the evening on the facade of The Holiday Inn.
