Carnival 2026 - Thank You!

And that's it for another year!

Just look at what was on offer this year:

  • The Parade - Without a doubt, this was one of our most successful parades in recent years with over 20 groups participating, unfortunately our Fire Brigade friends had to attend an incident but they joined us on the field later. Thanks to Tarporley 41 Club who led on organising it, all of the participants who we hope enjoyed themselves, and of course we mustn't forget everybody who lined the High Street to cheer them on!

  • Great Music - Our headline act this year was Andrea Pattison as Dolly Parton and of course we also need to thank all the other dancers, musicians and performers who appeared during the afternoon.

  • Food & Drink - It wouldn't be a Carnival without lots to eat and drink. Thanks to Tarporley 41 Club for manning the Bar and Prosecco Tent, Inner Wheel for providing Tea and Cakes as well as our all the other stalls making sure there was lots of choice and that nobody went hungry!

  • The kids(and some adults!) made full use of the facepainter and "gel tattooist", the storyteller and all other activities to try out including the Bucking Bronco and the Climbing Wall!

  • To crown it we had fantastic weather!

  • Best of all ... the proceeds* are donated to local and international charities and organisations.

Tarporley Carnival is organised and run by the Members and Friends of Tarporley and District Rotary Club, helped and supported by members of the Tarporley 41 club, Tarporley Independent Traders and many other volunteers. Most of our stallholders are local charities, community organisations or micro businesses - all are grateful for your support.

We would especially like to acknowledge the financial support of our sponsors:

Barlows, Cliff Dickenson, Tarporley Parish Council &The Foresters

We are also grateful to everybody that advertises in our programme brochure and the many local businesses and organisations that have donated their services, either without charge or with a generous discount including:

Weetwood for supplying their beer and the loan of their bar. NMC Design+Print for designing and printing the brochure. Inner Wheel for staffing the Teas and Cakes Tent. Tarporley Scouts for lending the large tent. Nick Brookes Group for providing a large rubbish skip free of charge and recycling the waste. Tarporley Post Office, Reva Green and The Vintage Charity Shop for selling tickets, Cheshire Farm for lending us the chiller van, Steve Davies for being our official photographer, and St.Helen’s Church Bell Ringers for their lunchtime peel. We don't have enough space to list everybody, but whatever your contribution, we are most grateful for your support.

Making Carnival happen takes an enormous amount of work by our members and volunteers - the planning for next year starts in October, and on Carnival Day everyone is out from early to late to make sure that all our 2000+ visitors are kept safe, entertained and well supplied with food and drink (and of course we clear up afterwards - by 8pm there is little evidence that the Carnival ever happened).

If you would like to help out  (it's great fun, even just for a few hours), if you are interested in becoming a sponsor or you would like to support the Carnival in some other way, please email Rotarian Jim Webb - enquiries@tarporleyrotary.org.uk

* The net proceeds of the Carnival (after deducting costs) are distributed to charities and other organisations through the Tarporley & District Rotary Club Trust Fund (registered charity 1032689).
