Dark Fun Run at Bolesworth Castle

Tarporley & District Rotary Club supports Hope House Children’s Hospice

The Hope House Dark Run at Bolesworth is back again on Saturday 24th October.
Last year Members of Tarporley and District Rotary supported Hope House Children’s Hospice volunteered as marshals for the 5K charity Dark Fun Run round the Bolesworth Castle estate in Cheshire.

In recognition of World Polio Day and Rotary International’s major contribution in supporting the eradication of the disease (which Rotary has been committed to fight for decades) we all wore purple sashes

Posted to marshall runners at a delightful spot on the course (at least it would have been delightful if we could have seen it) we found ourselves beside a small pond infested with crocodiles (it must have been as the younger runners suddenly seemed to gain a bit more energy when we told them about it!). We had an pleasant few hours in the fresh air helping everyone to stay safe whilst they enjoyed the run and helped raise funds for a very worthwhile cause.
