Each year at the St Helens College Graduation Ceremony Rotary St Helens give a special award. This year the ceremony took place on Saturday November 15th, 2025, at the town centre Campus and St Helens Parish Church. The event featured a procession through the town centre, followed by a formal ceremony at the church, and concluded with a canape reception at the campus
The Rotary St Helens Award is designed to recognise students who have achieved academic success in the face of adversity, those who have overcome personal hardship yet continued to strive for excellence. It is also about celebrating the qualities that make a student truly remarkable: their resilience, their impact on others, and their determination to be the very best they can be.
This year, we are delighted to honour an outstanding student who embodies the spirit of this award: BA Graphic Design student, Kayleigh Fowler.
Rotary St Helens Vice President Nicky Monk presented the Rotary Club Award on behalf of Rotary St Helens, recognising BA Graphic Design graduate Kayleigh Fowler, Kayleigh is celebrated for her exceptional resilience, determination, and community impact.
Despite significant personal challenges—including motherhood, family illness, and mental health struggles—Kayleigh graduated with First Class Honours and aimed to inspire her daughters by proving it’s never too late to pursue your dreams.
Alongside her studies, she contributed actively to local initiatives such as St Helens Borough of Culture 2023, the St Helens Parade, and collaborations with community venues and pop-up shops.
Her academic excellence, personal strength, and community engagement make her a truly deserving recipient of the Rotary Club Award. Also a member of Rotary St Helens Rotarian Dr J.A. Kerry made an award presentation.
