Gliding Event at Seighford Airfield

Chocs Away!

It was “Chocs Away” for a group of Nantwich Rotarians and their friends as they took to the skies to raise money for the Rotary International Fund.

12 brave men and women from the Nantwich Rotary group visited Staffordshire Gliding Club for a chance to experience the thrill of gliding for themselves on a fine but chilly August evening.

President Elect Christine Crowe was the first to be flung into the skies quickly followed by last year’s President Tony Coxhill. Over the next two and a half hours the gliders were winched 45 degrees into the air like being let off as huge catapult!

Organiser Tony Hoy remarked “This is the second year that we have been gliding and I can honestly say it is just as enjoyable the second time around as the first.”
