Environment

The environment is Rotary's newest Area of Focus from July 2021.

Rotary’s environmental projects support activities that strengthen the conservation and protection of natural resources, advance environmental sustainability, and foster harmony between people and the environment.

Since Tony Hoy became RC Nantwich’s Environmental Team Leader (7 years ago) we have been involved in a number of local activities (often in conjunction with other local groups such as the Civic Society) including tree and wildflower planting in Coed Wen (a local wildlife area), hedge planting along the Waterlode, painting and weeding the steps up to the canal, Himalayan balsam bashing along the Weaver Way and repainting some of the street furniture in Nantwich’s conservation area.  Our most recent project in July 2023 was helping to weed and clean the public footpath in front of Dysart Buildings (Monk’s Lane). We also support the wildflower verge campaign.
