President Bill Falconer (second from right) was one of our members supprting World polio day on 26th October 2024.
Polio mainly affects children under 5 years of age and is a causes paralysis in about one in 200 cases. Rotary has been involved in trying to eradicated polio since 1979. Together with many others we have helped reduce the incidence of polio, but as long as a single child remains infected, children in all countries are at risk of contacting the disease.
