St Machar & Local Foodbanks

It is sad to say, but at St Machar we are acutely aware of the financially difficult position some people and families find themselves in today. The local Community Groups are at the forefront of monitoring this and setting up assistance where they can. This includes finding ways of providing food supplies for those in need. Working together with these Groups, St Machar Rotary uses online information systems to find out where surplus food may be available from Supermarkets in the area. Our Members & Friends carry out collections of this free surplus food every week and deliver to the likes of Froghall & Powis Community Centres where their volunteers arrange to get these supplies to those who need them.

Once a month, we do our own member "dry" food donations which go to the foodbanks too.
