The Bandipur Remote Schools & Chhen Guest House
Nepal Schools Project
This project was made possible due to receiving a matching grant through Rotary International's own charity Rotary Foundation. By improving basic sanitation is 5 schools in a remote region near Bandipur and helping to improve teacher training, the children are getting a much better start in life.
Nepal Social Enterprise
This significant project was conceived and delivered to provide an ongoing and long term income source to maintain the original schools project. Planned, designed and delivered with the assisiance of a local Nepal based club and with major financial input from Rotary Foundation, not only does the facility generate income, but it provides assocaited employement opportunities.
The project itself comprised the purchse of a building in Bandipur and carrying out major redevelopment to create a cafe and guest rooms which supply much needed facilities for the tourist industry. Since opening, the Bandipur Chhen has gained an excellent reputation for its hospitality and service.
