The talented young people of Macclesfield Youth Brass Band conducted by Louise Renshaw and the accomplished Silk Brass Band conducted by Tony Wyatt entertained a full house in St Michael’s Church. They were hosted by The Rotary Club of Macclesfield Castle in what proved to be an amazing concert.
Rotary President, Carole Murphy, said “We have had so many compliments on the programme, on the quality of the playing and the exemplary commitment of all the people involved. It was a delight to see the happy faces of the audience as they enjoyed the wonderful music.”
MYBB Musical Director, Louise Renshaw said “The sound of brass was ringing around St Michael’s on Saturday evening and the occasion was enjoyed by the musicians and audience alike. The Youth Band performed its programme for the upcoming National Youth Brass Band Championships in Warwick which was well received. Both bands got together for a full-on big band set in the second half.”
Proceeds from the concert will go to the Bands, and to charities supported by Rotary.
