Shoe Aid Campaign

Glossop Rotary Club have collected over 360 pairs of shoes towards our District Shoe Aid campaign.

Glossop Rotary Club have collected over 360 pairs of shoes towards our District Shoe Aid campaign. There has been an overwhelming response for this Footwear Poverty Campaign.

Glossop were one of 40 Rotary Clubs in the District who collected over 6,000 pairs of shoes, making the footwear poverty campaign extremely successful. Members have collected shoes from their friends, families, neighbourhoods, schools, churches, post offices, snooker halls, golf clubs, market stalls, rota kids, interact clubs, etc.

Collectively clubs have also raised over £2,250 for the Shoe Aid UK, to enable them to continue to distribute cleaned, sanitised and boxed footwear, free of charge to the needy people in the UK and overseas. It is estimated that 200,000 homeless people in the UK lack proper footwear and that four million children need fit for purpose shoes.
