Speaker by Hedley Jackson
This week's speaker was Eric Smith, a microbiologist who advises insurance companies world wide on food technology issues. Eric gave us a compelling talk covering the dramatic improvements in yield in recent years in response to increased food demands. He then went on to discuss some of the negative aspects of this particularly those arising from the improvements in hygiene.
Despite the nature of some of Eric's warnings members still thoroughly enjoyed their lunches.
