The annual joint Barbeque between Inner Wheel and Rotary was held this year at Hanging Chadder Farm, Royton, the home of Philip and Elaine Day.
The weather was fine and dry and guests started to arrive at 6.30. The barn had been filled with tables and chairs and a stage erected for the band to perform. The bar was soon doing a good trade as people settled down for the evenings entertainment. An excellent turn out of over 100 people, covering a range of ages, began to enjoy the band performance and soon it was time to collect our BBQ food.
This year the burgers, steak and chicken was provided and cooked in a very efficient manner by Lee Brooks and his team. As usual these were accompanied by rolls and salads, followed by a range of deserts, provided by the Inner Wheel.
The raffle was organised in his usual efficient manner by Ossie Millar who had a wide range of prizes to offer.
This event is a team effort between Rotary and Inner Wheel, however, without the facilities provided by Philip and Elaine this would have not been possible.
The event raised £2400 of which £1700 was presented to the Kingfisher Special School Hydrotherapy Pool Fund and the remainder will be given to other local charities.
