Competitors had the very difficult task of creating a healthy
3 course meal in just 2 hours with ingredients costing no more than £20.
Two local industry professionals, John Cornwell and Emma
Blackwood, scored the contestants using a range of different criteria, not just
taste and presentation. The four contestants all rose to the challenge
magnificently, especially considering their ages ranged from just 12 to 16 years
of age.
The winner Ruben Carroll and runner-up Pearle Smedley-Castle, entered the District heat in Mansfield on February 8th . They both excelled in creating wonderful, healthy meals and were unlucky not progress through to the Regional final in Leeds.
