Following a highly successful Quiz Night in June, masterminded by Honorary Secretary Brian and held to raise funds for Aberlour Child Care Trust's Mother and Child Recovery House in Dundee, Brian and President Dai recently visited the House to see at first hand the work undertaken by Natalie and her team. We were greatly impressed by the dedicated multidisciplinary support on offer and the bright and cheerful environment in which mums and their little ones are given a safe space in which to begin to address holistically the underlying challenges they face, whether from serious violence, domestic abuse or substance misuse.
They also met one of the mums currently staying in the House and her 6-month old son Shine, who was clearly thriving.
The pictures show Brian viewing the facilities at the House, being briefed by Service Manager Natalie on plans for the snug being funded by the Rotary Club of Dundee’s £977 donation raised by the Quiz, and Dai and Brian presenting a cheque to Natalie and team member Lucie.
