Alison Neil originally hails from Dumfries but has lived in Dundee since 1992. She left her role as the Project Manager of a software team at NCR Dundee to join the South Georgia Heritage Trust in 2006 and became the Chief Executive of the Trust in the same year. The charity which is based in the Verdant Works jute museum aims to conserve the natural and historical heritage of the sub-Antarctic island of South Georgia. Alison has now visited South Georgia three times and despite being a terrible sailor, would jump at the chance to return to the island to see the result of the Trust’s work to eradicate rodents and restore native wildlife.
