Young Photographer Competition 2025/2026

The Rotary Club of Whitby & District Young Photographer Competition is the first stage of a National Competition which takes place in the spring of 2026.


The competition aims to encourage young people to: –

  • experiment with photography

  • use digital and/or traditional methods of photography

  • demonstrate interpretation of the topic

  • express personal ideas through the medium of photography


There are three age categories:

  • Up to and including 10 years old

  • 11 to 13 years old

  • 14 to 17 years old


Your task

To produce one photograph based upon the theme ‘Happiness is Nature’ and mobile phones or cameras may be used. 

To accompany the submission, each entrant MUST provide a brief sentence describing the relationship of the photograph to the theme.  

The photograph must be submitted via Digital Format and be at least 1500 pixel in size on the longest length (therefore, please email your photograph in its original size).

The entry and supporting information, sent electronically, MUST NOT EXCEED 15Mb per email sent.
