Octoberfest

Octoberfest is a fun afternoon of races for primary schools and has become a regular event.

What is a Octoberfest?

On 5th October 2025 we hosted our annual Octoberfest Fun Run for the children of primary schools in and around Whitby. The event encouraged young participants to raise sponsorship for charity and good causes. This year the beneficiary was the Rainbow Dreams Trust, a worthy cause based in South Africa, who’s aim is to empower underprivileged youth through mentorship, arts, and life skills programs, fostering confidence, resilience, and personal growth. Its initiatives also support seriously ill children, including those with cancer, offering joyful experiences and hope for the future.

Dannie from Rainbow Dreams Trust offered her gratitude in what we embarked on: “I am so excited that Whitby Rotary Club is helping us with our Cancer Camp in November this year… and we are not able to do this unless we have help from people such as yourselves.
