2026 Primary School Quiz

An annual quiz for primary school pupils. The schools compete for the Club prize - 'The Quaich' - and the winner takes part in the North Scotland Area 1 Heat, followed by the Rotary District 1010 Grand Final.


 

  • Primary Schools Quiz 2026

 

The Rotary Primary Schools Quiz is an annual event run by the Rotary Disitrict 1010 (North Scotland). This year more than 500 schools took part. The quiz is divided into three sections.

 

1  Rotary Club Heats        2    Area 1 Heat         3 District Final

The Dingwall Heat  was held on Wednesday 13 March 2026 at the Dingwall Legion Hall.

Tthe Area 1 Heat was held Saturday 25th April 20256, hosted by Dingwall Rotary Club at the Legion Hall 

 The Heats consisted of 10 Rounds with 6 Questions in each Round. The subjects included some of the following:

 

The Arts  Geography  History  Math  Spelling  Sport  Technology  Science  Around the Uk   Music,

 General Knowledge Picture Quiz. 

Each Team consisted of 4 pupils, plus a reserve, and a large crowd of supporters attended both events.

 

The Primary School Dingwall Heat Winner was Ben Wyvis and the Runner-up was Bridgend.

The Rotary Clubs of East Suherland and Tain school's Winners and Runnrs-up were Inver, Golspie, Lairg and Hill of Fearn. All six teams battled it out in the Area 1 Heat on the 24th.

First and second places were hotly contested , the lead narrowing to only 1 point as they entered the final 3 rounds. These last rounds saw the leeader board change as Ben Wyvis Primary School Team overcame their 1 point deficit before finally winning with a margin of only 2 points over Bridgend.

All 6 teams had clearley worked hard to prepare for the day and every pupil did themselves and their school proud.

Ben Wyvis received the winners trophy and they and Runers-uo Munlochy will represenedt the clubs in Area 1 at the GRAND FINAL in the Aberdeen Beach Ballroom on Saturday 20 June.

At the Final, the Ben Wyvis Team secured. the runner-up position and for coming secong they received £300 for their school.     WELL DONE  TO THE bEN wYVIS TEAM and also to the MUNLOCHY TEAM WHO WEREN'T IN THE TOP THREE BUT DID EXTREMELY WELL.

We raise money each year via the Wade Walk, the sleigh and other events. The money is dispersed among local and national Charities.
